How to Catch Celebi in Pokemon Ruby Without Gameshark

In 2006, players could attend Pokemon events scattered throughout North America to receive a Level 70 Celebi in "Pokemon: Ruby." While players can still receive Celebi in later "Pokemon" versions at Nintendo events, these copies of Celebi cannot be traded to "Ruby." Most players can only acquire Celebi through trade with other players, although owners of the Japanese version of the "Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc" can acquire Celebi through completion of "Pokemon Colosseum."

Instructions

  1. Trading with Other Players

    • 1

Seek out other players who own Celebi on a Game Boy Advance "Pokemon" game. Turn off both players' Game Boy Advance systems and connect using a Game Boy Advance link cable. Turn on both systems.

    • 2

Travel to any Pokemon Center along with the other player. Climb the stairs to the second floor of the Pokemon Center and speak to the receptionist to activate the Cable Club. Once both players have completed this step, you will enter the trade screen.

    • 3

Select a Pokemon to trade to the other player if you do not have an empty slot in your Pokemon party. Check which Pokemon are being traded and press "A" to confirm the trade when you are satisfied.

    Japanese Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc

    • 4

Purify all 48 Dark Pokemon in the Japanese copy of "Pokemon Colosseum." Connect your Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance using a Game Boy Advance/GameCube link cable. Clear room in your Pokemon party on "Ruby," leaving one empty space in the party. Save the game and turn off the system. Insert "Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc" into the GameCube.

    • 5

Turn on the GameCube. Select "Sacred Shrine" from the main menu of the bonus disc. Turn on the Game Boy Advance when the "Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc" prompts you to on the television.

    • 6

Wait until a Level 5 Celebi appears in your Pokemon party on "Ruby." Turn off both systems and disconnect the link cable.
