The Action Replay device, which allows players to use cheat codes with a Gameboy Advance, can be an entertaining peripheral. It also can function sporadically. It's possible to unknowingly input a code that makes the device or your saved game unable to load. If this occurs, or you want to wipe the device back to its factory state for any reason, you can manually reset the Action Replay. This will clear its memory, restoring it to the state it was in when you first took it out of the box.

Connect your Action Replay device to your Gameboy Advance.

Turn on the game console. It will begin booting up the Action Replay peripheral.

Pres and hold both shoulder buttons, the "A" button, the "B" button, and the "Start" button. A three-second warning will appear. Let the warning go by and the device will be wiped of all memory.
