How Do I Dig Up Items While Using the Item Finder in Pokemon Sapphire?

"Pokemon Sapphire" is a role-playing game, developed for the Game Boy Advance, in which players train Pokemon for the purposes of using them in battle and becoming the top trainer in their region. One of the items you can pick up in the game, known as the "Item Finder," allows you to find items hidden underground. Fortunately, digging up these items is a relatively automatic process.

Item finder (in your quick use item slot)

Instructions

- 1
  Stand in any location and press the "B" button to activate your item finder. You will receive either a message that there are no items nearby or that there is an item hidden nearby. You are then automatically pointed in the direction of the item.

  Press the "A" button while facing a spot to dig for an item. If the item is in that location, nothing will happen.
- 3
  Move another step in the item's direction, and repeat the above step until you find the item.
