How to Get Through the Tin Tower in Pokemon Gold

The Tin Tower is a tall shrine in Ecruteak City in the ̶0;Gold,̶1; ̶0;Silver̶1; and ̶0;Crystal̶1; games for the Game Boy Color. After the player obtains all eight Johto badges in ̶0;Gold,̶1; Ho-oh will appear at the top of the tower at level 40 and a moveset consisting of ̶0;Sacred Fire,̶1; ̶0;Recover,̶1; ̶0;Gust̶1; and ̶0;Safeguard.̶1; To reach the top, players must traverse nine maze-filled floors while warding off wild Rattata and Gastly. Various healing items such as ̶0;Full Heal̶1; and ̶0;Max Revive̶1; are scattered throughout the floors to aid the player.

Instructions

  Enter the Tin Tower and use a Max Repel. Follow the straightforward path up to the third floor.

  Head west and pick up the Full Heal. Go east, then north and west to the pillar. Go around the pillar and head north then east over the ramps and up the ladder to the fourth floor.

  Head south, west across two ramps, south to the Ultra Ball, and east. Go south and pick up the Super Potion, then hop west, go around the pillar and go up the stairs to the fifth floor.

  Head north, then east to the first ramp. Hop east two ramps, south one ramp, west two ramps, south five ramps and east two ramps. Go south and up the stairs to the sixth floor.

  Head up to the pillar, then go counterclockwise around it to the ramps. Hop south and go up the stairs to the seventh floor.

  Head north past the warp tile, then east to the Max Revive. Go south and west until you reach a fork. Take the south path and step on the warp tile.

  Follow the warp tiles and go up the stairs to reach the top of the tower where Ho-oh awaits.
