How to Beat Marik With Slifer the Sky Dragon in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards

"Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards" is a card-based fighting game for the Game Boy Advance that lets you collect dozens of cards from the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" TV show and comics. One of the final battles in the game is against the Pharaoh Marik, who wields a variety of magic and trap cards that are enforced by a strong deck of monster cards. However, if you have a Slifer the Sky Dragon card, center your strategy for beating Marik around that specific card.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay down magic and trap cards that can negate the magic and trap cards of your opponent, such as De-Spell. Be sure to lay the card face down and not play the card until you have summoned Slifer the Sky Dragon in case Marik tries to play a card that prevents or cancels a special summon.

    • 2

Lay down a handful of low-level monster cards in Defense mode to keep your defenses up until you can draw and summon Slifer.

    • 3

Special summon Slifer the Sky Dragon by sacrificing the low-level monster cards that are in play. By default, Slifer comes into play with 4,000 attack power and 4,000 defense points.

    • 4

Draw cards and keep them in your hand as you dispose of Marik's monsters in play. For every three cards you have in your hand, you increase the power of Slifer the Sky Dragon by 1,000 points. Continue destroying his monsters until his life points are depleted to defeat the Pharaoh.
