Walkthrough on How to Get Pokerus in Pokemon Emerald

The "Pokemon" series of video games follows the story of a young Pokemon trainer as he wanders the countryside catching and training the creatures. The series contains hundreds of different species, and many of them do not live in the wild. In order to get these non-wild Pokemon, the player has to evolve them from earlier species. This is a time-consuming process, as a Pokemon must fight and win hundreds of battles to fully evolve. The Pokemon Virus -- the Pokerus -- helps this process by doubling the speed at which infected Pokemon grow. Acquiring the Pokerus is both rare and random.

Instructions

    • 1

Wander around fighting wild Pokemon. Most wild Pokemon live along the routes between towns, though you can find others in abandoned buildings and caves.

    • 2

Go to a town and speak with the nurse at the local Pokemon Center. If one of your Pokemon contracted the Pokerus, she'll inform you. If she doesn't tell you about the Pokerus, then none of your Pokemon are infected. Return to wild and fight more Pokemon.

    • 3

Fight as much as you can with the infected Pokemon at the head of your party. Every battle that you complete with the infected Pokemon nets double the normal amount of evolution points. Unfortunately, the Pokerus eventually goes away, typically within a day or two; take advantage of it while you have it.
