How to Get to the Basement in Pokemon Silver

The basement area in "Pokemon Silver" for the Gameboy Color is a blocked-off area of the Underground in Goldenrod City that becomes available for exploration as you progress through the game. The first time you encounter the basement is during your confrontation with the Team Rocket goons infesting Goldenrod during your first visit. The door to the basement is locked, so you must first find the key for the door. The key is held by a Team Rocket Executive at the top of the nearby radio tower.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter the radio tower in Goldenrod City after defeating Pryce the Gym Leader and battle your way to the top floor.

  Defeat the Team Rocket Executive who is currently impersonating the radio tower manager. He will give you the basement key after being soundly trounced.

  Exit the radio tower and go down the nearby stairs into the Underground.

  Travel all the way to the top of the Underground screen near the row of shops, then go all the way to the left and enter the small building there.

  Go down the stairs then to the right. Follow this hallway until you come to the locked door to the basement. Open the door with the basement key.
