What Do I Do After Archie Steals the Submarine in Pokemon Sapphire?

In the video game "Pokemon Sapphire," Archie steals a submarine to find the legendary Pokemon Kyogre as part of his nefarious master plan to cover the Hoenn region in water. The only way to follow him underwater is to teach your Pokemon to Dive. To do that you must defeat Team Aqua in their hideout, then swim to Mossdeep City, where you can obtain both the HM and Gym Badge needed to do so.

Getting to Team Aqua's Base
- Team Aqua's secret base is located on a remote island near Lilycove City. You will need the move "Surf" to get there. To reach it, fly to the city and head east to the beach. Surf north until you hit a small patch of land, then east until you find the cave of their hideout.
Defeating Team Aqua
- Team Aqua's hideout is a teleporter maze, and it can be a little confusing to wander around. Even more importantly, the game's one and only Master Ball is hiding in the maze. To get to it from the beginning, travel north to the teleporter room and take the left teleporter. Go left and around the bend to the next teleporter, fighting a grunt on the way. Take the teleporter directly to your left three times. Finally, choose the teleporter on the far left to get to an area with four Pokeballs. The ones on the right are level 30 Electrodes, and the ones on the left are a Nugget and the Master Ball. Make your way to a Team Aqua Admin Matt and defeat him to beat the area.
Traveling to Mossdeep
- Once you've defeated Team Aqua, the Pokemon blocking the path to Mossdeep City will be gone. Just surf east from Lilycove city through Route 124 until you reach the town. You may fight some trainers along the way. Once you have reached the city once, you can always return later using Fly.
Learning to Dive
- HM 08, which teaches Dive, is located in the northwest house in Mossdeep City. Enter and Steven will appear and give it to you. However, you won't be able to use it out of battle until you get the Mind badge from the local Gym of Psychic-type Pokemon. The gym leaders of Mossdeep are Lily and Tate, and they will challenge you to a double-battle with their level 42 Lunatone and Solrock.
