How to Fish on the Game The Legend of River King

The Game Boy game "Legend of the River King" lets you catch and raise different kinds of fish while on a quest to catch a magical fish that can cure diseases. The controls for fishing are fairly simple, and most fish eventually will bite on any kind of bait. You may have to access the menu and change the size of the hook if a certain kind of fish slips away, but you fish in the same way for almost all types of fish.

Instructions

- 1
  Press the "Select" button to change from walking to fishing. You also can start fishing by pressing the "B" button. This will show you a bare hook, so press "A" to bring up different kinds of bait. You can also change the size of the hook in this menu. Press "A" again to select the bait, then exit out of this menu.

  Hold the "B" button down to bring up a targeting reticule. Press in any direction on the control pad to move this target to where you want to cast your line.

  Release the "B" button to cast the line. Wait for the fish to circle the lure and press "B" when you hear a tone indicating a tired fish. This will change the screen to show a fish trying to escape. Wait for the fish to tire itself out, then hold down the "A" button to reel it in. The fish should gradually ascend toward you.

  Hold the "A" button down until you feel a tug on the line, then release the "A" button until the fish tires itself out again. Press "A" again when the fish stops moving. Repeat this process until the fish gets to the top of the water to catch it.
