How to Get Snorlax Awake in Pokemon: Yellow

In "Pokemon: Yellow Version," both routes to Fuchsia City are blocked by different Pokemon of the Snorlax species. To remove them, you must first awaken them, and then battle them. The only thing that can awaken a Snorlax is the song from the Pokeflute, which you can get at the top of the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. Once you have the Pokeflute, you can awaken any Pokemon in battle, as well as the Snorlax.

Instructions

  Travel to Celadon City, which is accessible via tunnel from the area just west of Lavender Town.

  Enter the casino near the center of the city, and talk to the man wearing black at the back staring at the poster. He'll challenge you to a Pokemon battle. Defeat him, and then check the poster to reveal a hidden dungeon.

  Beat the dungeon to get the Silph Scope, defeating the members of Team Rocket on the way.

  Travel to Lavender Town and enter the Pokemon Tower in the northeast.

  Climb the tower, defeating your rival on the second floor, the possessed Mediums on the middle floors, and Jessie and James on the top floor. You will receive the Pokeflute from Mr. Fuji.

  Stand in front of a Snorlax and use the Pokeflute item to wake it up.
