How to Make a Hideout in Emerald

Secret bases are new features that were introduced in the "Sapphire" and "Ruby" versions of the game "Pokemon," but they were also continued in "Emerald" as well. These secret bases are rather clever hideouts that are tucked away in some of the most remote places in Hoen, the place where the aforementioned "Pokemon" games take place. They allow you to display the plushies you collect and add furniture for decoration. While the secret bases are not a vital part of the storyline of the game, they allow a player to express a bit of creativity.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Route 112. Walk north and you will see a young man standing near a large tree. Speak to him to receive the Technical Machine or TM 43, which allows you to teach a Pokemon the move Secret Power.

  Teach a Pokemon Secret Power. Do this by going into your bag, selecting the TM pouch and choosing TM 43. Then select the Pokemon you wish to teach this to. A Psychic or Normal type Pokemon is suggested for this.

  Select a place for your Secret Base. You can create a base in large trees, clumps of tall grass or in mountain indentations. Only one Secret Base is allowed at a time, so pick your location with care. Walk to the spot and press "A." A text box will appear describing what you're looking at and it will ask you if you wish to set up your base there. Select "Yes" to proceed.

  Enter your base and proceed to the computer. Use it to decorate your base to your liking.
