The third generation of "Pokemon" games, "Ruby Version" and "Sapphire Version," introduced the Move Deleter to the lineup of useful nonplayer characters. The Move Deleter can make a Pokemon forget any move it has learned -- even moves learned from Hidden Machines, or HMs. These important moves are crucial to advancing in the game by removing obstacles such as rocks and fallen trees. However, the game makes it impossible for Pokemon to forget such moves without the aid of a Move Deleter.

Go to Lilycove City and enter the house to the right of the department store, which is north of the Pokemon Center there.

Talk to the Move Deleter sitting at the table.

Choose a Pokemon whose HM you want to delete, and then choose the move to forget. Select "Yes" to confirm your selection.
