Getting the S.S. Ticket
After defeating the Elite Four and Lance at the end of "Pokemon: Silver Version" and waiting for the credits, "The End" will appear on screen. Pushing "A" resumes the game. Professor Elm will call and offer an invitation to visit his lab. Once at the lab, talking to Professor Elm earns the player the S.S. Ticket.
Getting on the S.S. Aqua
To get to the S.S. Aqua, players must travel to Olivine City, which is in the northwest corner of Johto. Once there, players must travel to the southern part of the town where the docks are and find the sailor waiting there. When a player talks to him, he will ask if that player's character wants to board the ship. Selecting "Yes" causes the character to show the S.S. Ticket, providing access. The sailor will then take the character to the ship and send him on his way.
On the S.S. Aqua
Once on the ship, players can explore. While exploring, they will find a man whose granddaughter is missing. As players search for the little girl, they'll take on eight different Pokemon trainers on the ship and earn extra money in the process. Once players find the little girl and bring her back to the grandfather, he'll give them the Metal Coat as a reward. The Metal Coat increases attacks by any of a player's steel-type Pokemon.
At Kanto
While in Kanto, players can revisit old haunts from the original "Pokemon: Red Version" and "Pokemon: Blue Version" games like Saffron City, Pewter City and the Fighting Dojo and encounter Pokemon like the sleeping Snorlax near Viridian City. At the Saffron City gym are five Pokemon trainers to battle who all employ psychic Pokemon. Pokemon trainers also reside at Cerulean Cape and Route 9.
Returning to Johto
To make their way back to Johto, players must return to the docks at Viridian City on either Sunday or Wednesday. On the way back, players can fight the trainers on the ship all over again and gain extra money.
