How to Get Togepi in Silver

"Pokemon: Silver" is one of the first games in the series, though it already features many diversions present in later games -- including breeding Pokemon and hatching their eggs. Togepi is a rare Pokemon in "Silver" that you will not encounter in the wild. Instead, you get only one chance to acquire a Togepi, and that's by hatching its egg. You receive a Togepi egg after beating the gym leader in Violet City.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Violet City. It's north on Route 32, east on Route 36 and west on Route 31.

  Enter the Violet City Gym, which is located in the center of town.

  Speak with the leader to challenge him to a fight. He uses Flying-type Pokemon, so counter them with strong Fighting-type Pokemon such as Onyx. Both his Pokemon are under Level 15.

  Exit the gym and go to the Pokemart. It's located on the far eastern side of town. Inside you'll find one of Professor Elm's research assistants. Speak with him to get the Togepi egg.

  Walk around until the egg hatches. It takes tens of thousands of steps before the Togepi is ready to come out, so expect it to be a while before you add him to your party.
