In the video game, "Pokemon Ruby," the Secret Power move has multiple purposes depending on whether you use it in or out of battle. In battle, Secret Power's affect changes based on the terrain you are in, such as grass, sea water or sand. Outside of battle, Secret Power lets you make a secret base in a cave or at the top of a tree. You can decorate secret bases and change your Pokemon team there. To get Secret Power, you only need to talk to a man on Route 111.

Head to Route 111, located north of the Desert Ruins and Mauville City.

Walk up to the boy standing by the large pine tree. When he asks if you want his TM, say "Yes." He gives you Secret Power.

Make a base with Secret Power by investigating trees, caves and bushes. Say "Yes" when asked if you want to make a base there. You can only have one base at a time.
