How to Get a Mankey in Sapphire

Mankey is a common Pokemon found in tall grass through the first generation of Pokemon Gameboy series, but in the third generation games, such as "Pokemon Sapphire," you only acquire him through trade. Unfortunately, your generation three "Sapphire" game cannot trade with the generation one games. Nintendo understood the inconvenience this was for many users, so they created "Pokemon Leafgreen" and "Pokemon Firered." Using these updated versions of the Pokemon games, you trade some of your favorite Pokemon from the first generation to the third generation games such as "Sapphire."

Instructions

    • 1

Talk with a friend who owns either "Pokemon Leafgreen" or "Pokemon Firered" to discuss trading Mankey. Your trading partner must have his National Pokedex before you are able to trade.

    • 2

Link your Game Boy to your trading partner's with a connection cable (Sapphire is not compatible with the wireless transfer option). Visit your closest Pokemon center and go upstairs to speak with the representative in charge of trading. Your trading partner should do the same.

    • 3

Select the Pokemon you want to trade for Mankey. Take away any items you don't wish to transfer and confirm the trade. The mankey will go directly into your inventory.
