How to Get a Huntail in Sapphire

Along with Gorebyss, Huntail is one of the two Pokemon that Clamperl can evolve into. All three Pokemon are Water-type Pokemon with Huntail having a stronger attack stat and Gorebyss having stronger defense stats. As Huntail is not found in the wild of "Pokemon Sapphire," you will need to catch a Clamperl and evolve it into a Huntail. Thankfully, Clamperls inhabit a couple of areas of "Pokemon Sapphire." To obtain Clamperl, you will need to have a Pokemon that knows the move Dive so you travel underneath the sea.

     Make your way to either Route 124 or Route 126.

     Use Dive on the water to submerge into the ocean.

   • 3

     Wander around the ocean floor until you are attacked by a Clamperl.

   • 4

     Weaken the Clamperl with a Grass or Electric-type Pokemon. Capture Clamperl with a Pokeball.

   • 5

     Attach a DeepSeaTooth to Clamperl and trade it. After the trade, it will evolve into Huntail. Have your friend trade it back to have Huntail in your party.
