How to Play Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on the Computer With a GBA Emulator

"Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" is a 2004 role-playing game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. The game mixes characters from Disney with those from Square Enix games such as the "Final Fantasy" series. An enhanced remake of the game was later released on the Sony PS2 console. Owners of "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" can play the game on their PC with the use of an emulator. Doing so is only legal if the person is the owner of the original Game Boy Advance cartridge and a Game Boy Advance.

Instructions

Visual Boy Advance

  Download and install the free Game Boy Advance emulator called "Visual Boy Advance" (see Resources). This emulator is capable of running "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories."

  Download the "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" Game Boy Advance ROM file from a site such as Coolrom (see Resources). Place the downloaded file in the directory where you installed the emulator. There is no need to extract the game form the archive as "Visual Boy Advance" is able to read it as is.

  Start "Visual Boy Advance. Click "File," "Open" and select "Kingdom Hearts" from the menu.

  Click "Options," "Joypad," "Configure" and then "1" to set the buttons for the game. You can use either your keyboard or a gamepad connected to your PC to play.
NO$GBA

  Download and install the free "NO$GBA" emulator (see Resources). This emulator is capable of running "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories."

  Download the "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" Game Boy Advance ROM file from a site such as Coolrom. Extract the downloaded file to the directory where you installed "NO$GBA." This emulator cannot read the game from within an archived file so it must be extracted.

  Start "No$GBA," then select "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" from the browser menu that appears.

  Click "Options" and "Control Setup" to configure the game keys. You can use either your keyboard or a gamepad connected to your PC to play the game.
