How to Catch King Salmon on Rapala Pro Fishing

"Rapala Pro Fishing" is a fishing simulation game developed by several companies (including Zushi Games, Torus Games and San Grain Studios) and released by Activision for several video game platforms in 2004. In the game, players attempt to catch 13 different kinds of fish, including largemouth bass, catfish, rainbow trout and king salmon in a variety of different settings and environments. Players have more than 700 different Rapala products at their disposal. As in real life, catching fish in the game can be a difficult task, especially king salmon. Use the right lure and the proper technique and you can catch this big game fish as well in "Rapala Pro Fishing."

Instructions

    • 1

Use heavy fishing line. Use 20-pound test line if you have access to it. IF not, use the heaviest line you have available.

    • 2

Use the right lure. Attach the Long Cast Silver Minnow or any jointed lure to your fishing line.

    • 3

Limit cast distance. Do not cast further than 40 feet from your boat. Any further and you won't be able to keep slack in the line when the king salmon decides to make a run at the boat -- which it will.

    • 4

Set the drag at three or four to leave the proper amount of tension in the line.

    • 5

Use a jerking motion when reeling the lure in slowly. A lot of action in the lure will attract more attention from the king salmon.

    • 6

Set and the hook and reel your king salmon in. Set rod sensitivity to "Fast" to aid in setting the hook better. Keep the reel as low as possible and on the same side of the screen as the king salmon. Snap the rod as the king salmon comes near the boat and reel it in.
