Instructions
Use heavy fishing line. Use 20-pound test line if you have access to it. IF not, use the heaviest line you have available.
Use the right lure. Attach the Long Cast Silver Minnow or any jointed lure to your fishing line.
Limit cast distance. Do not cast further than 40 feet from your boat. Any further and you won't be able to keep slack in the line when the king salmon decides to make a run at the boat -- which it will.
Set the drag at three or four to leave the proper amount of tension in the line.
Use a jerking motion when reeling the lure in slowly. A lot of action in the lure will attract more attention from the king salmon.
Set and the hook and reel your king salmon in. Set rod sensitivity to "Fast" to aid in setting the hook better. Keep the reel as low as possible and on the same side of the screen as the king salmon. Snap the rod as the king salmon comes near the boat and reel it in.
