How to Make Pokemon Eggs Hatch Faster in Soul Silver

"Pokemon Soul Silver" includes the option to breed Pokemon at the daycare. Breeding comes with many advantages, including being cheaper, allowing for better moves and receiving better stats for your Pokemon. The downside to breeding is that once an egg has formed, players must walk between 1,000 and 10,000 steps before the egg will hatch into a playable creature. There are methods to speed this up, however, such as using the bicycle to take quicker steps and equipping a Pokemon with a fire or magma ability to help warm up the egg.

Instructions

  Place a fire Pokemon that has either the flame body or magma armor ability in your battle party, such as a Slugma, Litwick or Magmar. If you keep a Pokemon with this ability in your party, the amount of steps needed to hatch an egg will be cut in half.

  Equip your bike by pausing the game and selecting "Bicycle" from your backpack.

  Press the "B" button to turn on the fourth gear of your bike. This will make the bicycle go faster.

  Ride the bike back and forth from east and west. After about 10 minutes, you will receive an event telling you that the egg is hatching.
