How to Catch Missingno in Pokémon

In "Pokemon," Missingno is a Pokemon that can actually mess up your game if you catch it. Missingno is a glitch that can turn text into gibberish. Because of this, many players will ignore the creature and keep playing, but if you really want to capture a Missingno, it can be done. You just need to follow the right steps and bring plenty of Pokeballs and health items to be on the safe side.

Instructions

- 1
  Walk to the gambler found east of Saffron City. Do not get into his line of sight. Walk north to the little house that has a tunnel inside and go in the front door. Save your game here just to be safe.

  Take a single step out the door and into the gambler's line of vision. Before he can challenge you, press Start. Fly to any city where there are trainers around you haven't yet battled. You should just see the exclamation point come up when you do this.

  Find any trainer you haven't yet fought and battle them. Do not battle a wild Pokemon. Your Start button won't work until you've defeated a trainer, but afterward it will function normally again.

  Arrange your Pokemon you want to fight first in front of your party. Fly to Cinnibar Island.

  Walk north to the burned-out manor house. Save your game. Use a repel or super repel to make sure you don't have any Pokemon battles until you reach the basement. If you do have a battle, then you need to start the whole process over.

  Battle a Ditto when you reach the basement. Don't defeat the Ditto until after it takes the shape of your Pokemon. Once the Ditto has been defeated, use Dig or an Escape Rope to leave the basement. Then fly to Lavender Town.

  Start walking. Your Start menu should come up all by itself, and if you exit out using the B button, a wild Missingno will appear. Fight it until it's weak and then paralyze or put it to sleep before you try and capture it with a strong Pokeball.
