How to Catch Rayquaza in LeafGreen

Rayquaza, one of the three legendary Pokemon introduced in "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Sapphire" can not be found in "Pokemon LeafGreen," but you can trade it from one of the earlier games. Initially, you can only trade Pokemon between "Pokemon LeafGreen" and "Pokemon FireRed" but you can unlock the ability to trade between previous "Pokemon" games by completing a side-quest after you have defeated the Elite Four to become Pokemon Champion in "Pokemon LeafGreen."

Instructions

  Travel to the Pokemon Center on Cinnabar Island after you have beaten the game and obtained the National Pokedex from Professor Oak. Speak with Bill inside the Pokemon Center and accept his offer to take you to the Sevii Islands.

  Speak with Celio, Bill's friend, in the Pokemon Net Center on One Island, which is where Bill takes you when you arrive. He gives you a Tri-Pass and a new quest. Follow his instructions for obtaining the Ruby and Sapphire he needs to power his computer.

  Return to One Island once you have the Ruby and Sapphire, then speak with Celio to deliver them. After a brief scene, you will be able to trade Pokemon between "Pokemon LeafGreen" and "Pokemon Sapphire," "Pokemon Ruby" and "Pokemon Emerald."

  Go to any Pokemon Center and go upstairs to the Trading Center. Connect your GBA to a second GBA with a copy of "Pokemon Sapphire," "Pokemon Ruby" or "Pokemon Emerald" in it. Use a GBA Link Cable to connect both devices.

  Power on the second GBA and load the game. Go to any Pokemon Center in the second GBA and go into the Trading Center. Speak with the woman at the desk in both games to initiate a connection between both GBAs.

  Select any Pokemon on the "Pokemon LeafGreen" GBA to trade for the Rayquaza. Pick Rayquaza as your trade Pokemon on the second GBA. Confirm the decision on both consoles and watch the trade animation. When the animation is over, Rayquaza will be in your party.
