How to Catch a Raikou in Pokemon LeafGreen for Game Boy Advance

In every game in the "Pokemon" series, special Legendary Pokemon exist for players to hunt down and capture. "Pokemon LeafGreen" features a trio of Legendary Pokemon -- the volcano Pokemon Entei, the aurora Pokemon Suicine and the thunder Pokemon Raikou. Although three Legendary Pokemon appear, you can only capture one during the game. To capture Raikou, you must take steps starting at the beginning of the game to ensure that thunder Pokemon appears at the end of the game.

Instructions

  Begin a new game and select Squirtle as your starting Pokemon.

  Play through the game's storyline as normal and defeat the Elite 4 using your strongest Pokemon and best techniques.

  Travel through the Kanto region after you have defeat the Elite 4 and wait for Raikou to appear in a random Pokemon encounter.

  Select the Master Ball from your trainer menu when you enter battle against Raikou. This will ensure a guaranteed catch without having to battle Raikou. You will have received the Master Ball for defeating Giovanni while playing through the game's story.

  Select your best Pokemon and strongest techniques to battle Raikou until its health points are lowered enough to capture it with a different Pokeball if you have already used your Master Ball.
