How to Use the Microphone on No$GBA

No$GBA is a hardware emulator that allows the user to play Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS games on the computer. To load these games, the user must download a ROM, or cartridge image file, of the game he wishes to play. No$GBA supports the Nintendo DS's microphone feature, which is required to play many games. You can use your computer's microphone, headset or webcam to substitute for the Nintendo DS microphone.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in your computer microphone. Depending on the device, it may require a 3.5 mm audio jack or simply a USB connection. Refer to your specific microphone's documentation if you have trouble setting it up.

    • 2

Test your microphone by running Windows Sound Recorder. Find the program by clicking on the Start menu and typing "Sound Recorder" in the programs window. If you are running Windows XP or older, click the Start menu, then select "Programs," "Accessories," "Entertainment" and "Sound Recorder."

Start No$GBA and play your game. The system should detect and use your computer microphone automatically.
