How to Get to the Power Plant in Fire Red

"FireRed" is part of the extensive "Pokemon" series. Over the course of the game, players battle, capture and train hundreds of species of Pokemon. One of the legendary Pokemon in the game is Zapdos, an electricity-based creature resembling a yellow bird bred with a porcupine. It lives in the abandoned power plant, which the player cannot access by road. Instead, you must surf down a river to land on its shore. Because of this, you must first defeat Koga at the Fuchsia City Gym before you can gain access to Zapdos.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Fuchsia City. It's west on Route 15, east on Route 18 and north on Route 19.

  Enter the gym, which is located in the southwest part of town. It's full of invisible walls. Your goal is to get to the middle, where the gym leader Koga awaits.

  Follow the invisible wall to the right. Eventually you'll reach Koga, as long as you always go right when you can.

  Speak with Koga to initiate a fight. He uses poison-based Pokemon, so counter them with psychic Pokemon such as Koffing. Koffing's self-destruct ability can also help out in a pinch. After you defeat Koga, he gives you the Soul Badge and the Surf ability.

  Travel to Route 9, which is east of Cerulean City and north of Route 10.

  Walk to the Pokemon Center on the far eastern side of Route 9. Head north of there to reach a river.

  Surf down the river. It's a straight path to the power plant.
