How Do You Get a Male Banette in Pokemon Sapphire?

Banette is a Ghost-type Pokemon in the Nintendo Game Boy Advance videogame "Pokemon Sapphire." It evolves from Shuppet at Level 37, and is the highest step in its evolutionary chain. Male Banettes are grey in color, while the females of the species are light blue. Banette is found in the Sky Pillar, which you can only access after you have completed the game's main storyline. After you defeat the Pokemon League, you will be rewarded with a ferry ticket, which you can use to get to the Sky Pillar.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to Lilycove City and head to the port in the southern part of town.

    • 2

Go to the counter in the seaport and the woman will ask where you want to go. Select "Battle Tower."

    • 3

Get on board the ship and it will take you to Pacifidlog Town. Head east on Route 131 to get to the Sky Pillar.

    • 4

Enter the Sky Pillar and walk around on floors one, three and five. These are the places where you can encounter Banette, but there are several more common Pokemon in the area such as Golbat, Sableye and Manwile, so it may take a couple of encounters before you meet a Banette.

    • 5

Check the symbol next to Banette's name to see if it is male or female. If it is female, run away or knock it out. There is a 50 percent chance of encountering a male or female Banette.

    • 6

Use Dark- and Ghost-type attacks to wear down Banette's health points. If you have encountered a male Banette, throw out a Pokeball once its health bar is red in color to catch it.
