What Happens When You Beat the Pokedex on Pokemon Yellow?

"Pokemon Yellow" is the third entry in Nintendo's "Pokemon" role-playing game series. Like the two prior games, "Pokemon Red" and "Pokemon Blue," "Pokemon Yellow" challenges you to catch all 150 Pokemon. Catching all 150 Pokemon completes your Pokedex, which includes information on each kind of Pokemon. The game offers several rewards upon completion of the Pokedex.
  1. View All Entries in the Pokedex

    • After completing the Pokedex by catching all 150 Pokemon, the entries for all 150 are available for viewing. Each entry provides the Pokemon's picture, type, height, weight and a brief description.

    Congratulations from Professor Oak

    • After catching all 150 Pokemon, you can speak with Professor Oak in Pallet Town at his laboratory, which is located just southeast of your house. He will then congratulate you on the completion of your Pokedex.

Congratulations and Certificate from Game Freak Team Member

    • A member of the Game Freak development team is in the back of the first room on the second floor of the Game Freak building in Celadon City. The Game Freak building is the tall building to the left of the Celadon City Pokemon Center. Upon speaking to the development team member, he will congratulate you and show you a certificate recognizing your Pokedex's completion.

    Print the Diploma

    • If you have a Game Boy Printer, you can print out a physical copy of the Pokedex completion diploma presented by the development team member. This feature is available only in "Pokemon Yellow" but not in "Pokemon Blue" or "Pokemon Red."
