How to Return the Root Fossil in Pokemon Sapphire

Fossils are a method of obtaining Pokemon in the Nintendo video games of the same name, by "reviving" them from their petrified stone form. In "Pokemon Sapphire," you must choose between a Root Fossil and a Claw Fossil, which are revived into Lileep and Anorith, respectively, when you take them to the Devon Corporation in Rustboro City. Lileep is a Rock/Grass-type Pokemon, which evolves into Cradily when it gains enough Experience Points to reach Level 40.

Instructions

  Go to the desert on Route 111, north of the Hoenn region.

  Find the fossils in the upper right corner of the desert. You can choose only one of the two: take the Root Fossil.

  Go to Rustboro City in the west of Hoenn. On the western side of town, find and enter the Devon Corporation building.

  Go up to the second floor, and talk to the scientist there. He will take your Root Fossil.

  Leave the Devon Corporation building, and then go back in again.
- 6
  Go back up to the second floor, and talk to the scientist again. He will give you a Level 20 Lileep.
