Capturing Articuno
Fly to Fuchsia City's Pokemon Center, heading south to use HM, or Hidden Move, "Surf" at the nearest body of water. Travel southwest along Route 20 to the nearest land mass known as "Seafoam Island"; enter Seafoam Island's cave entrance on the west side, walking east to find a boulder.
Use HM "Strength" to push the boulder into the nearby pit. Walk back toward the entrance onto a set of stairs; go east to walk down another set of steps. Push the next boulder into the pit ahead using Strength. Walk north to traverse down the ladder inside another pit; push the boulder down the next pit and return up the ladder.
Head south, north and then west to find another ladder to climb down. Walk south along the path onto another set of stairs, heading northeast along another path. Continue south to push another boulder down a nearby pit. Retrace your steps north; head southwest to go down another ladder. Walk east to another ladder, climbing down to enter a room with a few boulders and holes.
Push the fourth boulder into one of the pits nearby; move the third boulder against the wall ahead. Shove the first boulder against the north wall, moving the second boulder one space down. Continue pushing the second boulder three more spaces east toward the closest pit. Go into the hole where you pushed the second boulder, heading northeast to find another ladder after landing. Continue up two sets of ladders to find another boulder; push it into the nearest pit.
Retrace your steps down the previous set of ladders, heading southeast to the nearest body of water after descending them. Use Surf to head west; save your game before heading north to find Articuno. Battle Articuno using Pokemon with a type advantage, such as Fire or Rock Pokemon. Capture Articuno using any Pokeball after weakening its health to the yellow or red range.
Capturing Zapdos
Use the HM Fly to travel to Route 10 to reach the nearest Pokemon Center; walk north from the Pokemon Center, traveling west along a fence near the grass. Enter the nearest body of water using the HM Surf to head north, continuing east and then southwest to the entrance of the Power Plant.
Save your game before entering the Power Plant. Enter the Power Plant and head north, walking east and then south after passing through the maze-like corridors. Continue east before heading north at the farthest doorway; walk northwest to reach the furthest exit.
Enter the door ahead to encounter Zapdos at the center of the dark room. Battle Zapdos using a Pokemon with an advantage over its weaknesses, such as Rock or Ice type Pokemon. Capture Zapdos with any Pokeball once its health reaches the red or yellow range.
Capturing Moltres
Defeat "Cinnabar Island" Gym Leader Blaine to encounter Bill. Talk to Bill to trigger a series of events to go to "One Island." Walk east from the nearest Pokemon Center to a body of water; surf north to encounter "Kindle Road." Walk north to enter a cave entrance; continue northeast once inside the cave, walking west to encounter a man with the HM "Rock Smash." Exit the cave, using Surf to head north onto "Mt. Ember."
Climb the stairs to push boulders from the path ahead; continue northeast, taking the nearest southern path to another set of boulders. Use Rock Smash to break the boulders near the steps ahead. Walk upstairs to battle a trainer before heading into the cave entrance; continue northeast up a few sets of stairs. Head southeast into a room to exit through its southern route. Continue northwest after climbing another set of stairs to reach a boulder puzzle.
Move the first boulder one space north and the second boulder one space west. Push the third boulder one space west, moving the last boulder once space north and one space east. Save your game before encountering Moltres ahead. Battle Moltres using Pokemon with a type advantage, such as Rock, Water and Electric Pokemon. Capture Moltres in any type of Pokeball after weakening its health to the yellow or red range.
