List of Pokemon Evolutions in Ruby & Sapphire

Grass

• Several grass type Pokemon are included in the Ruby and Sapphire game versions. These include the starter Pokemon Treecko, who evolves into Grovyle at level 16. Grovyle evolves to Sceptile at level 36. Lotad, a grass type Pokemon with some water skills, evolves to Lombre at level 14 but requires the use of the water stone to evolve into Ludicolo. Seedot, which has dark abilities in addition to grass, evolves into Nuzleaf at level 14, then evolves to Shiftry with the use of the leaf stone.

Fire

• Torchic, another starter Pokemon, begins as a fire type, then gains fighting skills when evolving to Combusken at level 16. Combusken evolves into Blaziken at level 36. Numel, a fire Pokemon with ground abilities, evolves to Camerupt at level 33, who also has ground abilities. Another fire type Pokemon, Slugma, also has some rock abilities and evolves to Magcargo at level 38.

Water

• Mudkip is a water type starter Pokemon. Mudkip evolves to Marshtomp at level 16, then Swampert at level 36. A Pokemon with only two evolutionary stages, Marrill, evolves at level 18 to Azumarrill. Tentacool is a water Pokemon with poison abilities, who evolves to Tentacruel at level 30. Walmer is another water Pokemon with only two evolution levels and evolves at level 40 to Wailord.

Flying

• Flying Pokemon often have another type of ability, which widens attack ability. Zubat, a flying Pokemon with poison abilities, evolves to Golbat at level 22 but can only evolve to Crobat with friendship. Doduo, another flying Pokemon with normal abilities, evolves to Dodrio at level 31. Swablu is a flying Pokemon that begins with normal abilities, then develops dragon abilities and evolves to Altaria at level 35. Wingull is a flying Pokemon with water abilities and evolves into Pelipper at level 25.

Other

• Many other types of Pokemon exist, including electric, bug and psychic. Two bug types, Silcoon and Cascoon, hatch bug and flying Pokemon Beautifly and Dustox respectively at level 10. The psychic Pokemon Ralts evolves into Kirlia at level 20, then Gardevoir at level 30, while Abra, also a psychic Pokemon, evolves to Kadabra at level 16 and Alakazam after a player makes his first trade. A particularly strong steel and rock type Pokemon, Aron, evolves into Lairon at level 32, then Aggron at level 42.
