How to Get a Rainbow Pass

In the "Pokemon" games, a Rainbow Pass is a key item that grants the player access to the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh areas of the Sevii Islands, home to many new Pokemon such as Marill, Hoppip, Sentret and Wooper. Additionally, there are many places of interest on the islands such as the Pokemon Daycare, Icefall Cave and Five Isle Meadow. To get the Rainbow Pass, you must help Celio, Bill's friend, find a Ruby that will fix his Pokemon trading machine. In return, Celio will upgrade your existing Tri-Pass to a Rainbow Pass.

  Defeat the Elite Four at the Indigo Plateau. The Elite Four use strong Pokemon of different types, including Ice, Rock, Fighting, Ghost and Dragon, all ranging from levels 52 to 65.

  Capture 60 kinds of Pokemon to have their data recorded in your Pokedex. Return to Pallet Town and speak to Professor Oak. He will upgrade your Pokedex to the National Dex.

  Take the ferry to One Island from Vermillion City and speak to Celio in the Pokemon Center. Exit the Pokemon Center and head north to the entrance of Mt. Ember.

  Enter Mt. Ember and go up the stairs. Head east and battle the two Team Rocket members who are blocking the cave opening.

  Enter the cave and use your Pokemon's "Strength" ability to move the first boulder to the right, creating a pathway to the next room.

  Walk down the south road when you reach a fork in the path. Proceed past the room of Braille messages and climb the ladder to reach the last room.
- 7
  Collect the Ruby gem at the center of the room and return to Celio in the Pokemon Center. Speak to Celio and give him the Ruby in exchange for an upgrade to a Rainbow Pass.
