How to Get Super Rod in Pokemon LeafGreen

"Pokemon LeafGreen" contains a variety of fishing rods, which allow you to catch Water-type Pokemon. The best of these rods is the Super Rod. A fisherman found on Route 12, just south of Lavender Town, gives you the Super Rod. The problem is that a sleeping Snorlax is blocking the path and you'll first have to battle him to reach the fisherman's house. You need the Poke Flute to wake the sleeping giant for battle.

  Go to Lavender Town, which is the easternmost city on the Kanto map and is directly east of Saffron City. Leave through Lavender Town's southern exit towards Route 12. Unless you've already battled him, a sleeping Snorlax will block the Route 12 path to the Super Rod.

  Walk up to Snorlax and press "A." Answer "Yes" when asked if you want to play the Poke Flute, gifted to you by Mr. Fuji after rescuing him in Laventer Town's Pokemon Tower.

  Beat Snorlax in battle or catch him after wearing him down. Chris Carle and Peer Schneider's IGN guide highly suggests catching this Snorlax, as he is one of only two in the game. The guide suggests catching him with a Great Ball, which is stronger than normal Poke Balls.

  Head south and enter the house. Talk to the fisherman and answer his question with "Yes." He'll give you the Super Rod.
