How to Capture Kyogre in Emerald

Kyogre is a powerful Water-type Legendary Pokemon in the Nintendo Game Boy Advance video game, "Pokemon Emerald." Kyogre can be found in the Marine Cave after you have defeated the Elite Four. Finding the Marine Cave can be tricky, however, as it moves between four different underwater locations. You can find where it is at any time by talking to the man at the Weather Institute, but you have to move fast to get to it before it moves on.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete the main storyline of the game by defeating the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion.

    • 2

Go to the Weather Institute, to the west of Fortree City on Route 119.

    • 3

Talk to the professor inside the Weather Institute and he will tell you where to find the Marine Cave -- it will be on Route 105, Route 125, Route 127 or Route 129.

    • 4

Use a Pokemon's "Fly" move to go straight to the Route where the Marine Cave is located.

    • 5

Use a Pokemon's "Surf" move to head along the Route. Find the cross-shaped patch of water which is darker than the surrounding water.

    • 6

Surf onto the darker patch and you will be transported into the Marine Cave.

    • 7

Move through the first cave area and you will emerge into the Misty Cave. Here you will find Kyogre.

    • 8

Use a Grass- or Electric-type Pokemon to reduce Kyogre's hit points to a very low level. These types are very effective against Water-type Pokemon. Use a Master Ball or a Net Ball to catch Kyogre.
