How to Connect the GBA SP to the Wii

The Game Boy Advance SP, or GBA SP, can be connected via a special cable to the Nintendo GameCube, allowing interaction between the two systems. With the Nintendo Wii's backwards capabilities, this functionality has remained. For instance, in "The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures" for GameCube, players can connect up to four GBA SPs to their GameCube to engage in multiplayer cooperative play. When players separate or enter a cave, the action switches to their GBA SPs. This connection also allows trading between handheld and console "Pokemon" games. The Wii's GameCube controller ports allow you to continue to connect to these games.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Game Boy Advance cable to the top of the GBA SP.

    • 2

Connect the other end into the first GameCube controller port on the Nintendo Wii.

    • 3

Insert the game disc you want to connect your GBA SP to into the Wii.

    • 4

Turn on the Nintendo Wii and the GBA SP. Select the game from the Wii menu and the Wii will connect to the GBA SP.
