How to Catch a Munchlax in Pokemon Diamond

The key to catching a Munchlax in the game Pokemon Diamond is all in the preparation. Munchlax prefer trees as their habitat and only reveal themselves in order to eat. The best and only way to attract wild Munchlax is to apply honey to large trees and wait for Munchlax to arrive. While baiting trees is not guaranteed to attract Munchlax every time, careful application and patience will eventually lead you to an encounter with Munchlax and an opportunity to capture one.

  Find a tree that you can apply honey to. These trees are large, conically shaped and golden brown in color.

  Apply your honey to the tree. Honey is an item that may acquired by saving the honey-selling man outside of Floaroma City. Honey is purchasable for 100 Pokemon dollars for each unit.

  Wait at least six hours after applying your honey to the tree before you return. Once you return to the same tree, shake it to encounter any Pokemon within the tree. There is a chance that you will then encounter a Munchlax.

  Fight the Munchlax like you would any wild Pokemon. Be sure not to defeat it, but only weaken it. Once weakened, throw your pokeball to capture it.
