Adventure RPG Games
The GBA had a number of games that are classified as "Adventure RPG." These include: "The Legend of Zelda," "Mario &Luigi Superstar Saga," "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories," "Sword of Mana" and "Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance." An adventure RPG game features real-time combat.
Traditional RPG Games
The most recognizable traditional RPG titles are: "The Final Fantasy" series, "Golden Sun," "Breath of Fire," "Phantasy Star Collection," "Lunar Legend" and "Tales of Phantasia." The traditional RPG features turn-based combat and deep storylines. The Pokemon series can be classified in this group as well.
Strategic RPG Games
The GBA was the first handheld system to feature a large number of strategic RPG titles. These include: "Final Fantasy Tactics," "Advance Wars," "Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones" and "Tactics Ogre." These games play like complicated versions of chess where you need to think about unit placement and skills.
Action RPG Games
The action RPG genre doesn't feature many titles and the best example is "Marvel Ultimate Alliance." Some similar games are: "Dragonball Z" and "Super Robot Taisen."
