How to Find Kyogre in Pokemon Sapphire

Kyogre is a legendary Water-type Pokemon introduced in the third-generation "Ruby," "Sapphire" and "Emerald" games. It is the mascot of "Pokemon: Sapphire" and a member of the "weather trio" alongside Groudon and Rayquaza. Like all legendary Pokemon, Kyogre has impressive base stats, the most notable being its Special Attack. In battle, Kyogre is a fearsome special sweeper due to its access to attacks such as "Calm Mind," "Ice Beam," "Thunder" and "Water Spout," as well as having its Water-type attacks boosted by its "Drizzle" ability. Players can catch Kyogre in "Sapphire" after defeating Archie at the Seafloor Cavern.

Instructions

  Defeat Tate and Liza at the Mossdeep Gym to obtain the Mind Badge and the ability to use "Dive" on the field. Exit the gym and heal your Pokemon.

  Surf south from Mossdeep City until you are above a dark patch of water. Use "Dive" to go underwater.

  Swim south and follow the path to reach a cave entrance. Enter it and press the "B" button to surface. Surf to dry land.

  Use "Strength" to push the boulders out of your way and defeat the Team Aqua grunts. Follow the cave path, using "Strength" and "Surf" as necessary, and defeat the Team Aqua Administrator. Enter the next room.

  Use "Strength" to push the middle boulder up one tile, the two adjacent boulders aside, the boulder nearest to the entrance left or right one tile, and the boulder above that one up one tile. Push the two boulders adjacent to the last boulder up one tile, and push the final boulder aside to unblock the door.

  Enter the door and follow the path to find Kyogre and Archie. Use Electric and Fighting attacks to defeat Archie. Watch the cutscene.

  Fly to Mossdeep City and surf south, then west. Go slightly north until you spot an area of dark water surrounding a group of white rocks. Surf above the dark water and use "Dive."

  Head south and enter the cave. Press "B" to surface in Sootopolis City. Head north and Steven and Wallace will talk to you. Enter the Cave of Origin.

  Use "Flash" and follow the path south to find Kyogre.
