How to Use and Download VBA

VBA or Visual Boy Advance, is a virtual Nintendo Gameboy console for Microsoft Windows. You download the VBA software onto your PC, and you can play classic Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance games. It can be as if you were playing a physical Gameboy handheld system as long as you have Gameboy ROMs on your computer. A "ROM" is the game you load on the VBA. Downloading and using VBA is a simple process.

  Go to the VBA website on Emulator-Zone.

  Scroll down the VBA page and then click on the VBA download link to download VBA to your PC.

  Unzip VBA. Right-click the Visual Advance ZIP file in your folder where you save online downloads. Once you right-click the ZIP file, click "Extract All."

  Go to the folder with Visual Boy Advance. A Gameboy Advance icon should be in the folder -- that is VBA. You do not have to do any installing. Just double-click the Gameboy Advance to launch the program.

  Click "Options" and then click "Gameboy" to select which Gameboy you want to use. You can select Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Super Gameboy and Gameboy Advance.

  Click "File" and then "Open" or "Open Gameboy" to load a game on the VBA.

  Click "Open" again to allow VBA to load the Gameboy game. You should be able to play your Gameboy game. If you want to play with a joypad, go to "Options," "Joypad," "Configure" and then "1."
