Good Samurai Games for the GBA

On the GameBoy Advance, or GBA, several Samurai titles are available. These titles offer a variety of play styles and settings, with some featuring realistically recreated Samurai moves. Additionally, some titles were released only in Japan and are considered somewhat rare. Good Samurai games on the GBA involve several different difficulty levels for players of all ages.
  1. Samurai Evolution: Oukoku Geist

    • "Samurai Evolution: Oukoku Geist" is a role-playing game, or RPG, where players experience a futuristic version of Japan. The game is not entirely in English and was only released in Japan. For serious gamers however, it offers a complex storyline and a wide variety of bonus weapons that can be unlocked.

    Samurai Deeper Kyo

    • The limited edition anime series "Samurai Deeper Kyo" consists of 26 episodes and spawned a game for the GBA and one for PlayStation. In this game edition, players can choose from five different characters and an array of Samurai weapons. "Samurai Deeper Kyo" was only issued bundled with a boxed set of the animated TV show and is somewhat rare.

Samurai Jack: The Amulet of Time

    • A GameBoy Advance game based on the cartoon series of the same title, "Samurai Jack: The Amulet of Time," challenges players to right the wrongs of previous times and collect all the pieces of the mysterious Amulet. This title bases the character moves on original samurai moves, plus features multiple bonus weapons.

    Samurai Shodown

    • The Gameboy Advanced is designed to backward compatible so can play the larger, traditional GameBoy game cartridges. In "Samurai Shodown," a two-dimensional game for GameBoy, players face a variety of enemies in player duels. The game features hidden, unlockable characters, as well as a classic arcade fighting play style.
