How to Make Pokeblock Smartness in Ruby

"Pokemon Ruby," released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, allows players to enter Pokemon in Pokemon Contests. These contests are separated into five categories: beauty, cool, cute, tough and smart. To win a specific contest, your Pokemon must have a high characteristic in that category. For example, to win the "Smart" category, your Pokemon must have a high smart characteristic. You can increase your Pokemon's smartness by feeding it smart PokeBlocks.

Instructions

    • 1

Travel to any town that has a contest hall, such as Verdanturf or Lilycove, and enter the contest hall.

    • 2

Press "A" next to the Berry Blender, a large grey machine with other people around it.

    • 3

      Select "Yes."

    • 4

Select a berry to use. Berries are found from trees, other characters and shops. To make a smart PokeBlock, select a bitter berry such as a Rawst Berry.

    • 5

Press "A" when the arrow spins in your section of the Berry Blender. Pressing "A" at the exact moment the arrow lands in your section will cause a direct hit, causing the blender to spin faster, creating a better PokeBlock. At the end of the mini-game, you are given a smart Pokeblock.

    • 6

      Press "Y" and select "Bag."

    • 7

Select "Key Items" followed by "PokeBlock Case."

    • 8

Select the smart PokeBlock you just made. Select the Pokemon whose smartness you wish to increase. The amount the statistic will rise varies on the strength of the PokeBlock. You can view your Pokemon's "Smart" statistics at any time from your PokeNav.
