How to Get Volt Attack in Pokemon: Emerald

Pikachu has been the most recognizable Pokemon since shortly after the debut of the franchise, but in the Game Boy video games created by Game Freak, Pikachu had very few distinguishing characteristics. Game Freak recognized the need for a special move for Pikachu, so they created the Volt Tackle attack. Only Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu can learn Volt Tackle, and, even then, special conditions must be in place. Volt Tackle is an electric-type physical move that has a 10 percent chance of paralyzing the target and causes 33 percent recoil damage to the attacking Pokemon.

Instructions

    • 1

Give your Pikachu or Raichu a Light Ball. Go to the menu, open your bag, and select the "Light Ball." Click "Give," and then select your Pikachu or Raichu. Make sure you have another Pikachu or Raichu of the opposite gender. You can also use Ditto.

    • 2

Give your two Pokemon of opposite gender to the Pokemon daycare. Remember, it will need to be a Pikachu or Raichu with the Light Ball, and a Pikachu, Raichu or Ditto of the opposite gender.

    • 3

Leave the daycare, and walk around until you are contacted by the daycare representative. You can speed up this process by riding around on your bike.

    • 4

Return to the daycare and collect the egg. Walk around until the egg hatches. The egg contains Pichu, who possesses the Volt Tackle attack.
