How to Evolve a Tyrogue in Pokemon Diamond

Tyrogue is a Fighting-type Pokemon whose first appearance was in the "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon Silver" games. In "Pokemon Diamond," Tyrogue can be found in the wild on Routes 208 and 211 West with a 12 percent rarity. He can evolve into three different Pokemon: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Hitmontop. These three evolutions are also Fighting-type Pokemon and have branching move sets. Tyrogue evolves into one of the three different evolutions at level 20, depending on its stats --- in particular, its Defense and Attack stats.

Instructions

    • 1

Catch a wild Tyrogue along either Route 208 or Route 211 West. Alternatively, trade for a Tyroque with a friend.

    • 2

Train your new Tyrogue against wild Pokemon or other Pokemon trainers until it is at level 19. If you wish, you can feed the Tyrogue Rare Candy instead, since Rare Candy increases a Pokemon's level by 1.

    • 3

Check your Tyrogue's Attack and Defense stats. Depending on which of the three evolutions you are aiming for, feed your Tyrogue either Iron or Protein. Iron increases your Pokemon's Defense stat. Protein increases your Pokemon's Attack stat. A higher Attack than Defense creates a Hitmonlee. A higher Defense than Attack creates a Hitmonchan. Equal Attack and Defense statistics create a Hitmontop.

    • 4

Train your Tyrogue until it gains another level, making it a level 20 Pokemon. it will then evolve based on its statistics. Again, if you want to, you can feed it a Rare Candy instead to force a level raise.
