How to Evolve Kadabra Into Alakazam in Pokemon Sapphire

Most Pokemon in "Pokemon Sapphire" evolve through leveling up to the correct level, at which point they evolve automatically. Kadabra is one of a few Pokemon that require that you trade them with another Pokemon owner before they evolve. Leveling plays no part in the process. Once Kadabra is traded with another player, it evolves automatically into Alakazam in the other players game. Trading is extremely simple and requires only a few minutes and a few simple steps.

Things You'll Need

Gameboy
Pokemon Sapphire game cartridge
Gameboy connecting cable or wireless internet access

Instructions

  Open your game file and ensure you have Kadabra in your party. Go to the nearest Pokemon Center and access Kadabra from your Pokemon storage in the main Pokemon Center computer if it is not in your party.

  Walk to the top floor of the Pokemon Center. You should see signs for a union room. This is where you can connect to your friend's game system.

  Connect your gameboy to your friend's gameboy using either a gameboy connecting cable or wi-fi Internet access.

  Speak to one of the attendants in the union room. The attendant will prompt you to enter a trading screen if you have connected the two gameboys properly.

  Select "OK" to enter the trading screen. Offer to trade your Kadabra for one of your friend's Pokemon.

  Approve the trade once you are happy with the Pokemon you will be exchanging. The game will digitally trade your Pokemon. Kadabra will attempt to evolve as soon as it enters your friend's game system. Allow the evolution and Kadabra will evolve into Alakazam.
