How to Get Past Cerulean City to Mt. Moon in Pokemon Crystal

Pokemon Crystal was released in 2001 as a combination of the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver games; it is mostly the same as both those games. In Pokemon Crystal, players journey first in the Johto region and then in the Kanto region. In the Kanto region, players may travel between Mount Moon and Cerulean City, two points of interest.

Instructions

  Get a flying type Pokemon. If you don't have one already, you can catch one in the tall grass north of Cerulean City.

  Use the item HM Fly on it. This will allow you to use your Pokemon to travel instantly between cities. You obtain the HM Fly prior to journeying to the Kanto region as part of the plot and it is impossible to not have the item at this point in the game.

  Press Start, PkMn, then select the Pokemon on which you just used the HM Fly. Select Fly and Pewter City. You will instantly travel to a point from where Mount Moon is more accessible.

  Go directly to your east, battling trainers in your way. You will soon reach Mount Moon.
