How to Catch Deoxys in Emerald the Easy Way

Deoxys, a psychic-type Pokemon, does not evolve, but can change forms. The Pokedex describes Deoxys as a Pokemon that resulted from an alien virus that genetically mutated. There's only one Deoxys in "Pokemon: Emerald." Once captured, you can choose to transfer Deoxys to the Nintendo DS Pokemon games. Deoxys can only be obtained through the use of a Nintendo event, which enables the player to travel to Deoxys' location.

Instructions

- 1
  Attend a Nintendo event. Events can be found on the official Pokemon "News and Events" web page or through the Serebii website's event database page. On the Serebii web page, select "ƂDeoxys" from the drop-down menu to view Deoxys events.

  Travel to Birth Island, located north of Slateport City. A black triangle rests in the center of the island. Approach the triangle and examine it. It will warp to another location on the island.

  Pursue the triangle, using as few steps as possible to get to it. Examine the triangle again. The triangle will continue to move. Repeat the process of following and examining the triangle as quickly as possible.

  Wait for the black triangle to turn red and explode, revealing Deoxys. You will be drawn into battle. Attack Deoxys until it is weakened. Capture it by using an Ultra Ball. Save the game. Take Deoxys to a Pokemon center to heal it and save your game.
