How Do I Get Smoochum in SoulSilver?

Smoochum is the unevolved form of Jynx, the Ice-/Psychic-type Pokemon. Smoochum cannot be captured in the wild as other unevolved Pokemon in "Pokemon SoulSilver" can. To obtain Smoochum, you must take advantage of the Pokemon Daycare breeding system.

Instructions

  Capture a Jynx. Jynx can be found in two locations: the Seafoam Islands and the Ice Path. The Seafoam Islands are located along the ocean path leading from Fuschia City to the Cinnabar Islands, and the Ice Path is located between Route 44 and Blackthorne City.

  Fly to Goldenrod City and head South toward the Ilex Forest. Along the way, you will see the Pokemon Daycare Center. Leave your Jynx with the old woman.

  Give the old woman a second Pokemon. This Pokemon should be male, and of the Humanshape Egg Group. For breeding to work, you must have one male and one female Pokemon. All Jynx are female, so you must find a male that matches.

  Use the PC to store another of your Pokemon so that you have three open slots in your party (if your party was full).

  Walk around for a while, periodically checking the Daycare Center. Every 256 steps you will have a random chance to obtain an egg. When you approach the Daycare, the old man outside will alert you if an egg was found.

  Remove your Pokemon from the Daycare and collect your egg. Carry the egg with you until it hatches. (This can take from 1,000 to 10,000 steps.)
