How to Combine Pokemon on Emerald Without Action Replay

Combining two Pokemon with excellent stats and moves to create a new creature by breeding is an excellent tactic to make a strong team in "Pokemon Emerald." Breeding Pokemon to combine the best traits from the mother and father takes some research and practice to pull off properly, but the results speak for themselves when you have the Raticate that knows "Flame Wheel" or a Mawile that can use "Fire Fang."

Instructions

    • 1

Go the Day Care Center, on the eastern side of Route 117.

    • 2

Give the Day Care Couple a pair of Pokemon to look after while you continue the adventure. To combine a pair of Pokemon to create a Pokemon egg, you will need a male and female Pokemon from the same egg group. For example, a male Nosepass and a female Sudowoodo will combine to make an egg because they are both from the Mineral egg group.

    • 3

Check back periodically with the Day Care to see if the pair of monsters you left behind successfully bred to produce a Pokemon egg. The Pokemon inside the egg will always be the youngest evolutionary form of the same species as the mother, but any moves the father knows that the mother's species can learn will be inherited by the baby Pokemon. For instance, if a male Sunkern and a female Skiploom breed, the baby Hoppip will hatch from its egg knowing "Seed Bomb" if its Sunkern father knew the attack.

    • 4

Walk with the Pokemon egg in your party of Pokemon, and it will hatch after you have taken a randomly determined amount of footsteps.
