How to Get Groudon in Ruby

Players must capture or defeat Groudon in "Pokemon Ruby" if they want to finish the game's storyline. Capturing Groudon, which is a rare legendary Pokemon, is a very difficult and frustrating task, especially for those who lack patience. You may have to restart "Pokemon Ruby" a few times before finally capturing the legendary. Once you capture this Pokemon, you will be able to confront the Elite Four.

Instructions

  Complete the Seafloor Cavern Puzzles and fight Maxie. He will have a Mightyena, a Crobat and a Camerupt. Groudon will escape after the battle, which will cause unbearable heat waves in all of Hoenn. Fly or surf to Sootopolis City.

  Go to the Pokemon Center located in Sootopolis. Use the PC and choose six of the strongest Pokemon to put in your party. Make sure you have a Pokemon that knows Sleep Attacks and Flash. Head to the Poke Mart and purchase 60 to 100 Ultra Balls.

  Head to where Steven and Wallace are waiting. After speaking to them, head into the cave. Go through the entire cave until you see Groudon. Make sure to save before fighting the legendary Pokemon, just in case you don't catch it on your first try.

  Put the Groudon to sleep by using a Sleep Attack. The Sleep Attack will prevent it from using damage and stat-raising moves. Switch to a Pokemon with very strong attacks. Continue attacking until you get the Groudon's HP to the red zone.

  Use all of your Ultra Balls on the Groudon until you capture it. Put the Groudon to sleep as soon as it wakes up. Restart the game and try again if you don't catch the Groudon.
