How to Activate GameShark Codes for GBA

GameShark is a popular way to cheat on games for the GameBoy Advance. GameShark also allows cheats on games where cheat codes do not exist otherwise. Infinite ammo, health, quick experience gains and even infinite money are common types of cheats you can activate using a GameShark. The GameShark for the GBA was designed to be easy to use and comes preloaded with cheats for hundreds of different games. If the cheats for the game you want to play are not preloaded, activating new codes is really simple.

Instructions

  Push your GameShark into your GameBoy in the same slot you would normally insert a game cartridge. Then insert the game you want to play inside of the slot on the GameShark and turn your GameBoy on.

  Locate your game under the "Game Names" list. If your game is not listed, select the "New Game" option at the top of the "Game Names" screen. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the name of the game you are adding, and press the "Start" button. A new screen will prompt you to enter in the "Master Code" for the game you just added.

  Use the on-screen keypad to enter the master code for the game name you added. Press the "Select" button to confirm your entry. All games must have a valid master code entered for any of the cheats to work.

  Use the directional pad to select the "Add New Cheat" option. Press the "B" button to enter a cheat description. Use the on-screen keypad to enter an appropriate description for the cheat you are using and press the "Start" button. A new screen will ask you to enter in the cheat code. Use the on-screen keypad to enter in the cheat, double check to make sure your entry is correct, and press the "Start" button to save changes.

  Return to the "Game Name" list after you have entered in all the cheats you want to use. Select the game you want to play and press the "A" button to activate all cheats. To activate a select few cheats, press "Right" on the directional pad and a list of cheats will appear. Highlight the cheats you want to use and press the "A" button to activate them. Press the "Start" button to begin playing.
