Game Boy Games
You can battle the Joker in order to save Gotham City in Sunsoft's "Batman: The Video Game," which is based on the 1989 live-action film. In this game, Batman jumps over walls and uses boomerangs, disc launchers and missile guns to battle foes. Robin joins Batman to battle Gotham City's roster of classic villains in Konami's "Batman: The Animated Series," which is based on the TV program of the same name. Villains in this game include Catwoman, the Joker, the Penguin, Poison Ivy and the Riddler. Other Batman Game Boy titles include Acclaim's "Batman Forever," based on the 1995 live-action film, and Sunsoft's "Batman: Return of the Joker." In this game, the Joker escapes from an insane asylum and causes chaos for Batman and Gotham City.
Game Boy Color Games
Batman's protégé Terry McGinnis battles the Joker and his evil cohorts in Ubisoft's "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker." Joker's clan in "Return of the Joker" includes bad guys such as Bonk, Crane and Woof. After criminals escape from Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison, Batgirl joins Batman in battling Gotham City's "elite" villains in Ubisoft's "Batman: Chaos in Gotham." Villains include Bane, the Joker, Mr. Freeze and Roxy Rocket. You can use vehicles such as the Batboat, Batcycle, Batmobile and Jet Wing in this game's shooting missions and races.
Game Boy Advance Games
You can explore the roles of young Bruce Wayne and his alter-ego Batman in
Electronic Arts'/Warner Bros. Interactive Games' "Batman Begins," which is based on the 2005 live-action film. Scarecrow and Ra's Al Ghul are the primary villains in this game. Ubisoft's "Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu" introduced a new villain to the Batman universe, Sin Tzu. You'll also battle villains such as Bane, Clayface and Scarecrow. In two-player mode, a friend may join the "Rise of Sin Tzu" adventures as Batgirl, Nightwing or Robin. With Batman handling the action levels, Robin tackles the puzzle stages in Ubisoft's "Batman: Vengeance." You'll alternate between the two heroes as they battle enemies such as Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze.
Justice League Games
Batman is also a part of the Justice League in several Game Boy Advance games. Based on the Cartoon Network's "Justice League" series, Midway Home Entertainment's "Justice League: Chronicles" lets you control two-person teams of seven heroes, including Batman. You'll guide one hero as the other tags along, trying to stop enemies from taking over the world. You can swap out heroes at any time throughout "Chronicles." Batman battles the Joker and his thugs through 12 levels in Midway Home Entertainment's "Justice League: Injustice For All." This game lets you fight each hero's primary Injustice League rival in individual battles. In Warner Bros. Interactive's "Justice League Heroes: The Flash," Batman and other Justice League members jump into action when The Flash calls on them for assistance.
